THE LEEDS AMATEUR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Description

The Competition is a Scratch Stroke Play event over 18 holes.

 

Entries and Fees

This Competition shall be open to members of Clubs in the Union and with a WHS handicap not exceeding 9.0. The competition shall be limited to 72 entries. In the event of an entry in excess of 72, there shall be a ballot of the higher handicap entrants.

Winner

The Winner of the event returning the lowest score shall be the Stroke Play Champion and shall receive the John Keightley Trophy and a prize. There shall be a prize for runner-up and such other prizes as may be decided by the Executive Committee.

Ties

In the event of a tie for the Championship, a further 3 holes of stroke play shall be played. If the scores are still tied, play shall continue until a hole be won. All other places in the play-off shall be declared joint runners-up. All other ties shall be decided on the basis of Regulation 7.

Other

The leading 16 Competitors provided they have confirmed entry prior to tee off to the Competition Secretary, shall qualify for the Leeds Amateur Championship.

In the event of any of the 16 being unavailable a list of reserves, in order of finishing, shall be drawn up by the Competition Secretary.
