We did it!!!!!
Back to back YIDU 6 Man Team Winners 2024.
The course at Cleckheaton was set up for a true and fair test of golf with excellent greens.
After the morning rounds we had a five shot lead.
In the afternoon we had a few horror stories with visits to water hazards, doubles, triples and quads on players cards. The lads dug deep to recover superbly to bring home the win by 12 shots.
I couldn't be more prouder of what we have achieved in the last 2 seasons, especially the team spirit we have among everyone that has been involved in the team. We all want to win the league so badly and this year it just didn't happen for us on Sunday's.
I'm putting it down to “it was just one of those years†and we'll go again next year.
It was great to field a couple of our promising youngsters this season in who both won their matches and I'll be looking at starting them from the off next year if competitions, exams and other matches allow.
What we are doing could not be done without the help and support from the executive that attend our matches and their hard work and time which myself and the players appreciate.
We will all continue moving forward trying to improve our great Union.
